The Fifth International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals
and Devices (IEEE SSD'08)
will be held in Amman, Jordan, and will be organized by
PhiladelphiaUniversity(Amman) and The University of Sfax (Tunisia) in collaboration with
Bundeswehr
University
(Germany) in July 2008. The conference is technically
co-sponsored by the IEEE Region 8, IEEE Circuits
and Systems Society (CAS), IEEE
Lebanon Section and the IET.
SSD took place for the first time in Hammamet (Tunisia),
in March 2001. It was named International Conference on Smart Systems and Devices.
Statistics had highlighted that SSD'01 participants were involved in 4 major themes:
Power Electrical Systems, Systems Analysis and Automatic Control, Communication
and Signal Processing, and Sensors, Circuits and Instrumentation Systems. These areas were the focus of SSD'03
and SSD'05, held in Tunisia, March 2003 and
March 2005, respectively, yielding the International Conference on
Systems, Signals and Devices.
Following the remarkable increase of the number of participants, the SSD framework
has been rethought in an attempt to reach higher scientific levels, which has led
to a
multi-conference arrangement in SSD’07. SSD'08 will follow its successor,
and will be a consecration of this arrangement
yielding to the following conferences:
International Conference
on Systems Analysis and Automatic Control
International
Conference on Power Electrical Systems
International Conference
on Communication and Signal Processing
International
Conference on Sensors, Circuits and Instrumentation Systems
Authors
of best presented papers at SSD conferences will be offered an opportunity to publish
their work in a newly launched international journal entitled: Transactions on Systems,
Signals and Devices (ISSN 1861-5252).
The conference is indexed in the IEEE Database, and Proceedings will appear in IEEE
Xplore.
