Development and Academic Training Center

The quality of university education has become more transparent, and universities try to find ways to develop it. The development of faculty, staff and students consist of a wide range of activities that can be engaged in to develop university’s teaching and learning. This kind of activities was initiated in universities by full-time or part-time dedicated personnel in the sixties, but specialized centers were founded in the nineties.

Philadelphia University initiated one in 1996. The scope of educational development varies from individual teachers to course teams, departments and leadership of teaching. In 2018, the center has been developed into a deanship that comprises Avicenna Virtual Campus, Production of e-Courses suitable for blended learning, and the Professional Development Center that tackles all training pertaining to faculty, staff and students.
