ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF BASIC SCIENCES

The Department of Basic Sciences is one of the two departments under the Faculty of Science. From the beginning of our existence, we are here to offer service basic science courses such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to students from other Faculties. (Biology is now offered through the Biotechnology Department.) Then in the year 2003 we established the Bachelor's degree program in Mathematics.

Our department currently employs eleven fulltimers, ten of which hold Ph.D degrees from various backgrounds in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. While continuing in our service to other faculties, we also make efforts for continuous improvement and enlargement as an independent department in these fields of science.
