ABOUT THE LOGO OF OUR DEPARTMENT At first glance the shape of the logo resembles that of the Greek letter phi, which is the initial of the word Philadelphia. There is a hidden meaning to it, moreover: The picture is actually a directed graph consisting of 4 nodes and 6 edges. If we order these nodes: 00, 01, 10, 11, then the 4x4 adjacency matrix depicting their relations is given by
0
1 0
0
Now read all these from the top-left as a 16-digit binary number 0100101111000000, which in decimal is equivalent to 19392 --- and that is the Philadelphia University's postal code!
