Objectives of Department of Electrical Engineering

The department of electrical engineering is one of the main departments in the faculty of engineering faculty in the University.

The objective of the department is to prepare and graduate engineering in the important field and graduate engineering. These engineers are needed in the local and international work markets.

The graduate will obtain the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) on completion of 160 credit hours.

The courses taught in the department cover all aspects of power and control engineering and technology specializations. The courses are designed so as the graduates will be able to interact successfully with the professional requirements at the industrial and projects work place. All courses are supported with practical training though a number of specialized laboratories. The graduate will possess the ability to conduct engineering scientific research and be able to pursue postgraduate studies.

The Program Educational Objectives are as follows:

  1. Apply the basic concepts of mathematics, science and engineering in the solution of wide range of electrical engineering technical and practical problems.
  2. Have the ability to experiment, design, develop, operate and service technical systems that integrate contemporary engineering practices and modern tools and to overcome environmental and sustainability constraints.
  3. Promote an environment for personal professional development in leadership skills, accountability, multi-disciplinary team work, communication skills, decision making and ethical practices.
  4. Pursue and engage in professional engineering practices in work markets at all levels with emphasis on continuous career development.

Engage in innovational and entrepreneurial projects to generate sustainable technical and economic development in local communities.
