Given the limited supply of fossil fuel resources and their negative impact on the environment, there is growing worldwide interest in renewable energy. The Renewable Energy Engineering program aims to prepare and graduate qualified engineers in fields such as solar energy systems, wind energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy, in order to meet local and regional demand in the renewable energy sector. Students in the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Philadelphia University, will be qualified to earn a Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, studying courses in electrical engineering, energy conversion, and mechanical engineering, in addition to courses covering the sources and fundamentals of renewable energy.
