Abstract: As the need for control is extended to systems of increasing complexity which is also often highly non-linear, rule-based fuzzy logic control was one of the successful solutions. An Iterative Fuzzy Logic Controller (IFLC) is designed based on finding the best input-output scale factors settings that are found during iterations to give an acceptable controlled behavior. To verify the ability of the proposed IFLC, a promising simulation study on different kinds of control systems has been pointed out

Research Title: A Hierarchical Neuro-Fuzzy MRAC of a Robot in Flexible Manufacturing Environment
Author: Mohammed Mahdi Ali, Published Year: 2004

Faculty: Engineering and Technology

Abstract: In one hand, the Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) architecture has been widely used in linear adaptive control field. The control objective is to adjust the control signal in a stable manner so that the plant’s output asymptotically tracks the reference model’s output. The performance will depend on the choice of a suitable reference model and the derivation of an appropriate learning scheme. While in the other hand, clusters analysis has been employed for many years in the field of pattern recognition and image processing. To be used in control the aim is being to find natural groupings among a set of collected data. The mean-tracking clustering algorithm is going to be used in order to extract the input-output pattern of rules from applying the suggested control scheme. These rules will be learnt later using the widely used Multi-layer perceptron neural network to gain all the benefits offered by those nets. A hierarchical neuro-fuzzy MRAC is suggested to control robots in a flexible manufacturing system. This proposed controller will be judged for different simulated cases of study to demonstrate its capability in dealing with such a system.

Research Title: The Right of The Public Legal Person to Own Intellectual Property Rights Under Jordanian Law
Author: Bassam Hamad Al-Tarawneh, Published Year: 2020
Journal of critical reviews , (JCR) (ISSN 2394-512
Faculty: Law

Abstract: The issue of public legal person ownership of intellectual property rights (IPRs) has been raised in various countries because of some practical considerations which necessitated discussing whether it is permissible for public legal persons to have such rights or whether they remain confined to natural individuals and private legal persons authorized by law. Based on many practical and realistic justifications, some legal systems in the countries concerned have endorsed to grant a public legal person the ownership rights of (IPRs) because of the nature of their work and the multiplicity of their tasks as general public legal persons working for the public benefit which is the primary objective of the presence of various public facilities such as educational, technical, health, and other facilities. Because of the importance of this topic, this research was conducted to shed light on this issue in Jordanian law, to review what was stated in Jordanian legislation on this issue and to explain its legal and practical dimensions

Abstract: : This study aimed to clarify the treatise of Ibn Hazm on the virtue of Andalusia and its main personalities, and addressed both thematically and formally, starting from its vision and formation. In doing so, the study traced the most prominent dimensions of vision in it, such as the subjective dimension, and the other / collective and the critical, and provided a thematic study, starting from the goal of the treatise and its motivations, and then examined the mechanisms of artistic formation that the author utilized to embody his ideas and visions, such as language, intertextuality and arguments, which contributed to the aesthetic and vitality of the text of the message, as a coherent creative work. The study adopted the thematic and analytical approach to reveal the dimensions and reservoirs of vision, integrated with the formalist approach that helped in revealing the artistic technical mechanisms. The study had several conclusions, the most important of which were: ibn Hazm's ability to respond to ibn Al-Rabib, who blamed the Andalusians for their failure to perpetuate the merits of their country and the virtues of their scientists, through arguments, evidence and facts, besides the allusion to a large number of works by Andalusian authors, as well as the fact that the treatise met the requirement of textuality and discourse as it had both vision and relevant corresponding form, which worked together to support the construction of the text.

Research Title: Metaphorical Language in Best-Selling Books: Byrne's The Secret, the Power book as a Case Study
Author: Hanan Ali Amaireh, Published Year: 2020
Faculty: Arts

Abstract: Abstract In this paper, an attempt is made to study the metaphorical language used in one of the best-selling books, The Secret, the Power by Rhonda Byrne (2010). A lot of literature has been made on analyzing metaphors in different genres, yet how metaphorical language is employed in best-selling books gained little attention from discourse analysts, so this study comes to fill this gap in the literature. The purpose of this paper is to focus on this crucial field of written discourse and best-selling books in particular. It will investigate the linguistic techniques which are employed in a way to persuade the audience to change their behaviour or ideas and adopt new ones, especially the use of metaphorical expressions and storytelling. Metaphors will be analyzed according to Lakoff & Johnson’s (1980) perspective of metaphorical expressions and the "Speech Act Theory" proposed by Austin (1962) and Searle (1969). The paper concludes that metaphorical language is an integral part and pervasive in Byrne's writing style. She uses metaphorical expressions to deliver her message indirectly to convince the audience to adopt her ideas to call them for action. The analysis shows that storytelling is also employed by the author as a rhetorical device to persuade the audience of her thoughts.

Abstract: Abstract The focus of this study is the area of discourse analysis. This study analyses the political discourse of Queen Rania of Jordan’s English speeches. The data of the study consist of the English speeches the Queen delivered from 2016 to 2018. This study examines whether her speeches draw on the characteristics of the 'Feminine Style' of women’s political discourse in qualitative and quantitative analysis. The paper concludes that women in the political arena prioritise women's issues and address them through using some rhetorical techniques such as storytelling in order to convince the audience to support them.

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the sensitivity patterns of different antibiotics of pseudomonas in relation to specimen types. Methods: The quantitative retrospective study was conducted at Princess Iman Research and Laboratory Sciences Centre of Royal Medical Services, Amman, Jordan. The specimens of USS, urine, cerebral spinal fluid, and blood were collected from patients, who visited the hospital from January to September 2015. Drugs analysed included ampicillin, ceftazidime, ciprofloxacin, cefotaxime, cefoxitin, nitrofurantoin and gentamicin. Results: There were 358 samples collected. Ampicillin was found effective (p=0.002). There was a weaker correlation between amikacin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (r=-0.001). Similarly, nitrofurantoin was also effective (p=0.001), and the association between amikacin and ceftazidime was positive (r=0.998). Conclusions: The selected antibiotics were only examined, concerning the sensitivity patterns as data collected from the patients was insufficient for other drugs.
