The Mechanical Engineering program has the following objectives that ensure program graduates, within a few years after graduation, will be able to:
Apply practical engineering skills beyond the classroom, contributing to their excellence as engineers in industry, society, graduate or professional studies, and lifelong learning.
Contribute to the design, manufacturing, implementation, and management of engineering systems.
As team leaders or team members, effectively communicate ideas and solutions, taking into account environmental, social, economic, and ethical challenges that may arise in different working conditions.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Philadelphia University focuses on the following:
Engaging students in a curriculum that includes multidisciplinary educational and research topics, as well as contemporary laboratories and engineering industrial training to prepare them for a variety of different positions.
Preparing graduates capable of continuing their lifelong learning and facing engineering, ethical, and professional challenges.
Providing students with the necessary skills in using software required for design and analysis, and encouraging them to pursue graduate studies and scientific research.
Enhancing students' creative abilities and teamwork capabilities through numerous initiatives included in the curriculum.
