The Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program at Philadelphia University was accredited by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI) for the academic year 2020/2021 under the umbrella of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. The Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Department grants students a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics through a four-year course of study. Students spend an entire semester of practical training in their fourth year, during which they practice clinical nutrition skills and monitor various diseases, as well as plan and organize diets for both patients and healthy individuals, and for individuals and communities in hospitals, health centers, and schools. The Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program provides students with a strong foundation for obtaining cumulative learning experiences in theoretical subjects that cover all aspects of clinical nutrition, human nutrition, community nutrition, anatomy, pathophysiology, dietary systems management, and clinical nutrition. This specialization is concerned with graduating skilled therapeutic nutrition specialists in the field of dietary plans for healthy individuals and patients, where graduates are capable of planning diets and nutritional programs, and can work in medical clinics affiliated with diabetes and endocrinology or heart and bone diseases, as well as work in sports clubs and attend to the special nutrition of athletes. There are opportunities available for work in hospitals, maternity and child care centers, licensed nutrition centers, and international organizations. This specialization also qualifies graduates to work in elderly care homes, follow up with pregnant women and children, and assess the nutritional status of individuals and communities. Students are expected to be able to conduct nutritional surveys, study special cases and community conditions, and work within research teams.
