About the Department

Jordan has recently become an educational destination for students from all neighboring countries and Asian nations due to the security, safety, friendliness, and peace that prevail, and because of the educational environment in various Jordanian universities, both public and private in general, and at Philadelphia University in particular, which is considered one of the first Jordanian universities and the leading private university according to recognized international rankings. This university provides all the services that students need across various colleges. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology is one of these colleges and is considered among the most distinguished faculties among Jordanian universities. The Civil Engineering Department enjoys an excellent reputation because it has a distinguished teaching staff, with nine faculty members of various academic ranks who graduated from the finest European, American, and Arab universities. The teaching staff covers all specialization areas including structures, roads, water and environment, geotechnical engineering, and others. The department has teaching and research laboratories supervised by distinguished engineers with good experience. What distinguishes the Civil Engineering Department is the student atmosphere and various extracurricular activities, and the excellent relationships between students and faculty members, and between students and the university administration.
