About the Department
Welcome to the Mechatronics Engineering Department. Mechatronics engineering holds great importance and enjoys significant popularity among various engineering disciplines due to the urgent need for it in the industrial world and the remarkable technological advancement in different aspects of life. The term mechatronics was first used in the 1970s, where this science is based on the analysis, design, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems through a programmable intelligent controller. The Bachelor's program in Mechatronics Engineering began in the department in 2002. Philadelphia University is considered one of the leading universities in this specialization, and the department is an attractive environment for students from various governorates of the Kingdom and Arab countries. In 2012, the Master's program in Mechatronics Engineering began in cooperation with Bochum University in Germany, where students have the option to obtain a master's degree from Philadelphia University only or two master's degrees, one from Philadelphia University and the other from Bochum University in Germany. The Mechatronics Engineering Department is distinguished by a teaching staff with high academic qualifications from prestigious international universities such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The faculty members in the department are also distinguished by their research output in various fields of mechatronics engineering. The department includes many laboratories equipped with the latest devices and technologies that contribute to preparing mechatronics engineers with knowledge and practical experience that qualify them to enter the job market with confidence and capability.
