About the Department

Since its establishment within the Faculty of Science at the beginning of the 1991–1992 academic year, the Department of Scientific Basic Sciences has been committed to fulfilling the University’s vision and mission. Its objectives are aligned with the University’s strategic goals, with a strong focus on providing students with a solid scientific and intellectual foundation and equipping them with the fundamental knowledge and skills required in their respective fields of study. The Department serves as a shared academic foundation for various disciplines across the University’s science-related faculties, contributing to the development of a strong knowledge base that supports students’ academic and professional growth.

The Department strives to meet students’ needs in a wide range of basic sciences, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, life sciences, digital literacy, and health literacy. Through these disciplines, it aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills that foster their intellectual, cultural, and professional development while strengthening their ethical and social values. The Department is committed to achieving these goals by providing a distinguished learning environment that encourages creativity and innovation, supported by qualified academic staff who carry out their educational responsibilities with competence, integrity, and dedication.

Recognizing the vital role of education in shaping individuals and building the future, the Department aspires to sustain its contributions, enhance its performance, continuously improve its teaching practices, and inspire students to pursue excellence and innovation. These efforts reflect the Department’s firm belief that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and the architects of the future.
