Philadelphia University Wins First Place in “RoboFight” Combat Robotics Competition at the Level of Jordanian Universities

A team of Mechatronics Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Philadelphia University won first place in the “RoboFight” combat robotics competition, which saw wide participation from both public and private Jordanian universities.

The victory was achieved by team “Supernova,” which delivered an outstanding performance in the design and development of robotic systems, outperforming competing teams to secure the first prize of 10,000 Jordanian dinars.

The team included students Ahmad Al-Sayed, Ali Al-Saqqaf, Omar Laheibi, Omar Awad, and Mohammad Shahrili, under the supervision of Engineer Anas Abu Jabal. Their participation reflected a high level of academic and technical expertise, as well as a clear ability to apply theoretical knowledge in innovative practical applications.

The competition took place over three days, from March 31 to April 3, 2026, and featured strong competition among participating teams within an environment that fostered creativity and innovation in the fields of robotics and intelligent systems.

This achievement highlights the level of excellence demonstrated by Philadelphia University students and underscores the university’s role in promoting scientific and applied research, supporting students in developing their skills, and empowering them to transform their ideas into innovative projects capable of competing both locally and regionally.
