Philadelphia University Signs Cooperation Memorandum with Jordan Industrial Estates Company to Enhance Practical Training for Students
As part of the efforts of the Faculty of Business to provide a distinguished learning environment for students, Philadelphia University has signed a cooperation memorandum with the Jordan Industrial Estates Company. The agreement aims to enhance practical training opportunities for university students and align educational outcomes with labor market requirements, within a strategic direction to qualify young talents and improve their professional readiness.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of Philadelphia University by its President, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Jarrah, and on behalf of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company by its Director General, Mr. Ade Saad Obaidat.
The agreement stipulates cooperation in the areas of field training, exchange of expertise, and implementation of joint activities. It aims to provide students with opportunities to benefit from training programs within industrial estates, contributing to the development of their professional skills and gaining essential practical experience. It also includes the organization of specialized workshops and seminars, as well as collaboration in scientific research.
The areas of cooperation also include the implementation of preparatory and capacity-building programs for students, covering life skills, entrepreneurship, and work ethics, with the participation of experts and representatives from the industrial sector. This is intended to better prepare students before entering the workforce. In addition, the agreement coordinates efforts to provide applied training environments within industrial facilities, while adhering to occupational safety and health standards, adopting systematic evaluation mechanisms for trainee performance, and supporting employment opportunities for outstanding graduates within companies operating in the industrial cities.
Commenting on the signing, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Jarrah, emphasized that this partnership is part of the university’s strategy to promote applied learning and build effective partnerships with production institutions, contributing to preparing graduates with professional competencies capable of adapting to labor market transformations.
For his part, the Director General of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, Mr. Ade Saad Obaidat, stated that this memorandum reflects the company’s commitment to supporting human capital development by providing real training environments within industrial estates. This helps align educational outputs with the needs of the industrial sector and enhances the competitiveness of national talent.
He also noted that this agreement is the eighth signed by the company with the academic sector, aimed at integrating academia with industry. It seeks to harness the scientific and research capabilities of universities to serve the industrial sector, while also enabling industrial facilities to support universities and their students by providing applied training and work environments.
