Message from the Department Head

Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Information Security and Cyberspace at Philadelphia University. Our department was established in 2020 to graduate specialists with the ability to protect information from threats. Information Security and Cyberspace is one of the most vital fields in the information technology sector, as it focuses on securing information circulated over the Internet from various attacks, and on developing technology and means of storing and exchanging information in different methods, or what is called data transfer across the network from one location to another. Therefore, the issue of data and information security has become a concern and an extremely important vital topic.

From a legal perspective, information security focuses on finding measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of information and working to combat activities that attack information or exploit its systems in committing cybercrimes. Therefore, governments have worked to establish legislation on Internet crimes to protect information from illegal and unlawful activities that target important information.

The Information Security specialization is considered a vital and renewable field due to its effective and influential connection with more than one discipline, and it requires updating information in this field at accelerated intervals and continuously monitoring it and other related specializations.
