Welcome to the Nursing Department – Philadelphia University

The Faculty of Nursing was established in 2004 and provides students with a distinguished academic environment for learning. The faculty offers well-equipped classrooms, modern curricula, and advanced teaching methods in accordance with the highest international standards. Its primary goal is to graduate qualified nurses who are capable of meeting diverse healthcare needs within a constantly changing healthcare environment, while adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards.

The faculty is committed to preparing graduates who can deliver effective nursing services encompassing prevention, assessment, care, and treatment. This is achieved through the development of advanced learning skills, strong scientific knowledge, and the empowerment of students to make sound nursing decisions using critical thinking and problem-solving approaches. The importance of the Faculty of Nursing lies in addressing the shortage of qualified nursing professionals, particularly in light of the rapid advancements in the healthcare sector. Accordingly, the faculty strives to provide the best opportunities in education, teaching, and research to ensure the quality of healthcare services through the application of international standards and continuous quality assurance of its academic programs.

The faculty offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Admission is open to graduates of the General Secondary Education Certificate (Scientific Stream), as well as holders of a three-year Nursing Diploma or an Associate Nursing Diploma. Upon completion of 132 credit hours according to an approved study plan, graduates are awarded a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science. The program integrates theoretical and scientific instruction with structured practical training conducted in laboratories, hospitals, and healthcare centers, thereby producing qualified nurses both scientifically and clinically, contributing to the Jordanian and Arab communities.

Graduates of the Faculty of Nursing enjoy broad and diverse employment opportunities due to the continuous demand for qualified healthcare professionals. Career options include employment in public and specialized hospitals (such as emergency departments, intensive care units, surgical wards, and others), primary healthcare centers and private clinics, home nursing and community health services, schools and universities as nurses or faculty members, as well as research centers and governmental and international healthcare institutions.
