To implant the principle of comprehensive security for the university community, bolster the principle of dialogue on problems encountered by students, promote the feeling of engagement in dialogue workshops on combating university violence and whatever impedes the teaching and learning process at the university and create a safe university environment in the proper sense of the word.

Maintaining a high level of security and safety for individuals, safeguarding the university property and facilities, providing a university environment that is free of violence to ensure a smooth teaching and learning process, and contributing to achieving the university's aims and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The University Security Department is considered one of the most important departments and it has direct relationships with all staff and students. Its aim is maintaining public safety inside campus and protecting property and facilities. To achieve this, the Department undertakes the following responsibilities:

1.Cortroling visitor's entry to and exit from the university through issuing pass permits which state the visitor's name , the person who will be visited as well as the time of entry and exit .

2. Regulating the entry of visitors' vehicles and keeping the car license until the visitor's exit from the university.

3. Overseeing the process of employees and student's vehicles entry by issuing pass permit stickers which should be placed in a visible way on the vehicles glass.

4. Regulating mobile and walking security patrols to solve any problem that may arise at any moment.

5. Assigning immobile patrols at critical and main sites.

6. Intensive surveillance through cameras which cover most facilities at the university.

7. Regulating night guard patrols during formal working hours and holidays to safeguard university facilities.

8. Organizing security awareness sessions for the university security cadres on public safety, office security, document security, personal security, safeguarding mobile and immobile property.

9. Providing security men with wireless sets to solve any problem easily.

10. The Department has a bus that moves continuously to ensure safety of all facilities and solve any unexpected problem easily.

11. The Department has designated three security employees who carry out night inspection rounds of all company security employees and the university utilities.

4. Giving guidance lectures to security employees on how to deal with students and solve any problem peacefully.

5. Providing all necessary tools and adopting suitable measures to facilitate university security's work.

6. Organizing awareness sessions for university security cadres on public safety, security and property protection.

7. Cooperating with students to formulate special committees from students to assist the university security in their work and to decrease student's violence and university problems at every faculty at the university.

8. Enhancing and updating camera surveillance room and equipping it with modern screens to become more effective.

Transportaion Department

 Assigned tasks are as follows:

Organization of the transportation of students and academic and administrative personnel form and to the University, and setting accurate schedules for this process which includes transportation from Amman, Salt, Zarqa, Irbid and Jarash.
Supervision and execution of the repairs of buses owned by the University (46 in number) to insure smooth flow of transport movement.
Securing necessary spare parts.
Keeping manual and programmed records for maintenance works done to every bus and sending a monthly report thereon to the President.
Organization of manual and programmed records for the spare parts store.
Conducting studies and researches about the Transport Sector before the start of every semester including actual needs of the buses, numbers of students and the transport program.

To ensure smooth and efficient operation of all university facilities and utilities, this Department carries out all executive, constructional, electrical, mechanical, sanitary works as well as all tasks pertinent to communications and road works. It also follows up maintenance  contracts with various companies.

In brief, the Department is responsible for the following:

1. carrying out all power-connected tasks (installation and maintenance)
2. providing Internet connections.
3. providing telephone and fax services.
4. monitoring, pumping, sterilizing, distributing water.
5. installing and maintaining sanitary fixtures.
6. monitoring and maintaining all sewage systems.
7. doing all tasks involving carpentry, aluminum-molding, and blacksmithing.
8. doing paint-work (in-house and pavements).
9. plastering, tiling, and pavement-laying.
10.  servicing, developing, and upgrading the university’s telephone exchange.
11. negotiating contracts with maintenance companies and monitoring services carried out by such companies.
12. coordinating and following up maintenance services regarding photocopying machines, water coolers, air conditioners, elevators, and various scientific apparatuses to ensure that they are in perfect working condition.
13. responding to the numerous calls for immediate repairs throughout the campus.
14. monitoring and maintaining the university’s stand-by generators to ensure that they are in perfect working condition in case of power failure.
15. providing all necessary services (drinking water, telephones, and Internet connections) to classrooms and auditoriums where symposia and conferences may be held.
16. monitoring and maintaining  all fire alarm systems.

Department of Internal Audit

The Internal Audit Department was established for the purpose of providing management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees with reasonable assurance that the management control systems throughout the University are adequate and operating effectively. Internal Audit provides an independent and objective appraisal of activity for management and furnishes them with analyses, recommendations, counsel, and information concerning the activities reviewed. This includes promoting effective controls at reasonable cost.

To accomplish its mission, the University must maintain the confidence of its faculty, staff, students, alumni, the public, and elected officials, and various other constituencies. The Internal Audit Department provides valuable support in maintaining the public's confidence by performing independent and objective reviews and reporting to the Audit Committee and responsible administrative and academic officers on their findings so that corrective actions or enhancements can be initiated.

The Internal Audit Department assists operating management in achieving University financial and operating goals by evaluating controls to ensure systems function adequately, by identifying weaknesses, and by providing recommendations. Through complete and unrestricted access to records, property, and personnel, Internal Audit provides the University with an additional resource in meeting these goals. With the support of University management and the Audit Committee, the Internal Audit Department provides the highest quality of auditing services, thus enhancing fiscal control at the University.

The Horticulture unit is responsible for:

• The supervision of the campus landscape.
• Planting and increasing the transplants in the university nursery to use them for different purposes such as; planting, selling and gifts’ presentation.

Mission:

Rendering high quality foodstuff services to students and the university cadre. We also seek to ensure university cleanliness through making good use of the best  resources, modern technologies and effective partnership with students, staff and stakeholders,and adopting an effective monitoring system that is implemented by a highly  specialized and qualified cadre.

Responsibilities:

Public services department is considered the connecting link throughout all faculties and departments at the university. It is responsible for all follow up and supervision processes pertaining to various investment tenders. In addition, it constantly aspires to enhance the level of services offered to the university students and employees. The main duties and responsibilities of this Department are:

1. Monitoring trading outlets, main cafeterias and kiosks to ensure the best services rendered to students, employees and visitors.
2. The University provides a good number of cafeterias and kiosks that serve foodstuffs and drinks. These cafeterias and kiosks are monitored by the Ministry of Health as well as the University's Public Services Department.
3. The Department binds the investor to submit certificates free of disease and non-conviction or misdemeanor certificates for all employees.
4. The Department also binds the investor to observe cleanliness regulations of the place. All investors' employees should use plastic handgloves and headcovers, they should wear a special uniform for every site.
5. The Department conducts regular inspection campaigns intended to check storing places and expiry dates. It cares for having storerooms in conformity with specifications set by the Ministry of Health.
6. The Department specifies a special cleaning worker for every place and the bathrooms there. It is not allowed for this worker to enter food preparation rooms which should be kept closed .It also checks refrigerators cleanliness.
7. The Department emphasizes the necessity of presenting all foodstuffs in display fridges for students.
8. Surveillance of services rendered by the cleaning company around the clock.
9. Receiving remarks or complaints from students relating to cafeterias or kiosks.
10. Follow up and renewal of annual licenses.
11. Monitoring all service utilities and following up cleaning works at the university campus.
12. Conducting daily inspection campaigns for all public health utilities yards and car parking lots to ensure that they are clean and notifying Maintenance Department of any remarks.
13. Attracting distinguished investors to provide the best services to students as well as all personnel working at the University.
14. Coordinating with deanships, faculties and the Department of Public Relations in respect of all services required for conferences and other events.
15. Collaborating with the Deanship of Student Affairs for preparing the stadium or the gymnasium for graduation ceremonies.

The University has recently appointed a nutrition supervisor to advise and guide the personnel working in field of nutrition. The supervisor will also be in charge of health culture, nutrition quality assurance and public safety.

Department of Academic Staff Affairs

 Vision:

Entrepreneurship and uniqueness in rendering service to the academic staff with the purpose of having a developed and distinguished university in teaching and research locally and regionally.

Mission:

Attracting highly qualified academic staff members to meet the needs of the university faculties in line with accreditation standards, following up staff affairs, rendering best services and taking initiatives that aim at enhancing productivity and performance, maintaining job security, promoting team work and equal opportunities as per university regulations.
The Faculty Affairs Department provides services to University's faculty staffs in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable at the university, specifically. The Department mission includes:  

    - Keeping a file of faculty members containing evidence of their academic credentials, previous experiences and training courses if available.
    - Handling all personal affairs such as recruitment, promotions, transfers, secondments training, etc. Participation in preparing position distribution plans for all departments and identifying the annual needs of the university for administrative and service positions.
    - Organizing, overseeing and pursuing employees' attendance, absence, departures and leaves (annual, medical, emergency) and death.
    - Applying, pursuing and reviewing policies related to employees now and then.
    - Organizing and overseeing training courses for the university's employees aiming at raising their level of their performance.
    - Pursuing the Follow employees' social security and income tax affairs.
    - Implementing all staff related decisions issued by the president's office.
    - Pursuing certificates of release of members of staff who quit working for the University and terminating their records.

Future Perspective:

1-To upgrade the computerized employment applications system.
2-To track applications and dealings electronically with the ministries of Interior, Health and Labor with the aim of obtaining work permits and annual residence visas for non-Jordanian academic staff members.
3-To prepare a dossiers archive for new faculty members.
4-To improve the faculty affairs system in line with developments at the University.
