About the Department

The Applied Chemistry Department was established at the beginning of the 2025 academic year as one of the academic departments affiliated with the Faculty of Science, in response to the growing need for applied science specializations in the local and regional labor market. Since its inception, the department has played a fundamental role in teaching general, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry courses to students of the Faculty of Science and other faculties at the university.

The continued development of this department is part of the Faculty of Science's vision aimed at keeping pace with the rapid developments in the fields of chemistry and chemical industries, and supplying the market with qualified graduates who possess the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that prepare them to work in laboratories, research centers, and factories, as well as pursuing postgraduate studies in various chemistry specializations.

The Applied Chemistry Department grants a Bachelor's degree in this specialization, where the academic plan seeks to qualify students in the theoretical and experimental aspects of chemistry, with a focus on industrial, medical, and environmental applications. The plan also gives special importance to practical training through equipped laboratories, training in the use of modern scientific instruments, in addition to equipping students with critical thinking and scientific analysis skills.

The department's courses are taught by a select group of highly competent faculty members with academic and research experience. The department is also keen to provide references, scientific books, and modern interactive software that contribute to enriching the educational process and enhancing students' learning outcomes.
