🏛️

The profession of architecture engineering encompasses various fields in architectural design, urban and regional planning, natural and heritage environment protection, restoration and renovation, and interior furniture design.

The Department of Architecture Engineering is based on a curriculum focused on developing students' professional capabilities to understand local and global architectural characteristics through advancing scientific and technical abilities in aesthetic, sensory and human dimensions, improving design quality, highlighting the distinctiveness of sites with cultural value, and optimizing environmental factors.

Architecture engineering outcomes are an integrated system with multiple disciplines in civil engineering, environmental sciences, earth geology, material physics and other fundamental sciences. Accordingly, the characteristics of this degree can be outlined as shown in Table (1): Architecture Engineering Program Content Standards.

Program Content Standards
Purpose of Setting Specifications and Characteristics

The purpose of establishing specifications and characteristics of the architect is to assist in:

1

Designing and implementing study programs in higher education institutions

2

Establishing professional specifications for review and accreditation purposes

3

Providing students and stakeholders with information regarding higher education institutions

Assessment

To develop the assessment process, the following key elements must be considered:

1

There must be sufficient and distinct opportunities for students to demonstrate achievement of the minimum for each component of fundamental attributes and characteristics

2

Achievement of minimum standards may in some cases be implicit in higher education (for example, completing a project may demonstrate acquisition of certain acquired general skills)

3

Minimum achievement is possible without requiring knowledge of all assessment criteria (for example, a specific assessment criterion may involve one element of the characteristics where a student may achieve the minimum for that element regardless of overall achievement)

4

Careful selection of multiple assessment methods can make the assessment process efficient and effective

5

It is important that this strategy provides adequate opportunities for "top students" to demonstrate their level of creativity associated primarily with excellence and proficiency

Recommendations

1

The characteristic data presented in Table (2) and based on the essence of what is mentioned above should be used to guide the academic review of engineering programs

2

Architecture engineering fields should use the standards presented in Table (1) to achieve balanced and disciplined interpretation of each field

3

One of the responsibilities of engineering professional institutions is to establish professional field specifications and should link them with other appropriate specialized fields
